The Historic Residents' Dining Hall is available to community partners and outside organizations to host public events and private meetings. Rentals will be charged on a sliding scale and payment is due one week before the day of event. We are a public museum with a small staff and a big commitment to sustaining arts and social justice programming in Chicago. In order to uphold this commitment we reserve the right to deny use of our space based on scheduling, staffing, or other constraints.

The museum prioritizes proposals that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Program furthers the legacy of the Hull-House Settlement to engage critical issues of social justice through culture, direct action, advocacy or research

  • Privileges marginalized or under-represented voices and perspectives

  • Promotes interdisciplinary thinking, particularly that which brings together disparate social issues and organizations

  • Aligns with the vision, priorities, and capacity of the museum
