UIC Gender & Women's Studies 50th Anniversary

  • Jane Addams Hull-House Museum 800 South Halsted Street Chicago, IL, 60607 United States (map)

UIC’s Gender & Women’s Studies Program is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Join us on Thursday, March 9, 2023, for a daylong celebration featuring two-panel discussions and a captivating talk with Dr. Akemi Nishida, Assistant Professor in Gender & Women’s Studies and Disability and Human Development, about her book Just Care: Messy Entanglements of Disability, Dependency, and Desire. Lunch will be provided and we'll close out the day with birthday cake and a champagne toast!

Note: to reserve a boxed lunch, please RSVP by March 1st!

This event will be fully hybrid. We hope you can join us in person or via Zoom to honor all GWS has accomplished, celebrate our GWS community, and commit to the ongoing project of imagining and creating a liberatory feminist future. For any questions, email gwsinfo@uic.edu.
